Canesten Thrush Pessary 500mg contains the active ingredient clotrimazole, which is an antifungal medicine for vaginal infections. Canesten pessary is a single dose treatment for vaginal thrush (candidiasis). It is supplied with an applicator which allows you to go straight to the site of the infection for effective internal treatment. Thrush is an infection caused by a yeast called Candida. This yeast normally lives in your body quite happily without doing you any harm. When the natural pH balance of your vagina is upset – which can easily happen – Candida can multiply and cause the unpleasant and irritating symptoms of vaginal thrush.
