Canesten 500mg Soft Gel Pessary with its active ingredient clotrimazole, is used to treat fungal and yeast infections. Canesten pessary is made from a soft gel providing a single dose treatment for vaginal thrush. It is supplied with an applicator for treatment at the site of the infection. Thrush is an infection caused by a yeast called Candida. This yeast normally lives in your body quite happily without doing you any harm. When the natural pH balance of your vagina is upset – which can easily happen – Candida can multiply, and that’s when symptoms start to develop.
